As you will have read in the history of reiki Dr Usui learned a very important fact about reiki and went on to create the reiki principles as we know them today.
The reiki principles
The principles of reiki are quite easy to understand and follow. Firstly I will list them and then discuss them:
- Just for today, I will live the attitude of gratitude.
- Just for today, I will not worry.
- Just for today, I will not anger.
- Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
- Just for today, I will show love and respect to every living thing.
Simple yet effective – this is what the reiki principles are all about. What you must strive for is just for today. Don’t overly worry about tomorrow, but just for today give gratitude. Just for today do a good job with your work. Don’t worry – just for today, and don’t anger.
If you can do that each and every day and try to live by the reiki principles you will find life becomes easier. Again we are trying to take one day at a time, rather than worry about next week, next year or the century!
Think about these simple principles and try to live by them each day (even if you don’t practice reiki!)
