Level 1 reiki

When you begin your journey into discovering the healing world of reiki you will soon learn that there are 3 levels of reiki often called degrees.

This page looks at the level 1 reiki certification. In this article I want to explore what you will learn in level 1 reiki, how you will feel and what you can do with your level 1 reiki training.

The first degree or level 1 reiki training, introduces you into the world of reiki. In this training you will learn about the history of reiki. Where it came from and how it was discovered. You’ll hear about the trip into the mountains where Dr Usui and his quest to find the true knowledge.

From here you may be then brought though a meditation sequence so prepare you to receive the level 1 reiki energy. This meditation will be a gentle voyage into your inner consciousness that makes you more aware and open to reiki and it’s powerful benefits.

From this point on you may be attuned to the first ray of reiki which is a very calming experience.  This attunement will take around 10 – 20 minutes depending on the reiki master. Sometimes it will be longer.

After the reiki attunement process you will probably begin to feel the warm energy within you and then you will be shown how to practice reiki.

From this point on you are trained in level 1 reiki and you will practice amongst yourselves by placing your hands on each other and giving a reiki treatment.

Moving on from level 1 reiki – the next step

Once you have perfected reiki level 1 you can go and study for the higher levels. The levels are level 2 and level 3 reiki. The third level of reiki is often called reiki master.

I would recommend everyone to at least go from level 1 reiki to level 2 reiki as your energy flow becomes more powerful
