Reiki Hand Positions

What are the reiki hand positions?

Within the reiki teachings you will learn the hand positions that are used. These different hand positions will allow to effectively channel energy to the various points in the body that are known to need reiki energy. For example the head, the feet, around the kidneys.  When placing your hands above these positions you can channel energy directly to them.

How important are the reiki hand positions?

There is debate over this. I myself find that scanning the body is very effective. That is passing my hands over the body until I feel a change in energy. I then concentrate on that area.

However I would always start with the hand positions and then scan the body.

Can you not tell me the hand positions?

To be honest it’s best to be shown this information at your training. Like everything you can show people something but once they are face to face with you it makes more sense and is more valuable.  It’s also best to only practice reiki once you have been properly attuned
