Reiki Meditation

Reiki And Meditation

When a person thinks of reiki they often associate it with meditation.  Many people may be open to reiki but are wary of meditation for personal reasons. Meditation has in the past has got some bad press coverage, which has been mostly unfounded.

What is meditation?

Meditation itself is very relaxing. It is about quieting your mind. At any one time your mind is thinking about things, forumulating ideas, listening to others, and 100 and 1 other things.  This is the world we live in. We are constantly busy, never silent and always on the go.

Meditation is a way to calm the mind and let it go silent and just be. It’s a difficult thing to do as a lot of the time we are not used to it.

So meditation is about time for yourself and a time to relax and sometimes reflect on everything and nothing.

What do I need to do to meditate?

Very little to be honest, an open mind is the most important thing you will need.  You should be open to the fact that you can meditate if you try.

One thing that can help is a quiet room where you will not be disturbed for a period of time. For example 15 minutes to 60 minutes.

The next thing you need or can use is some meditation music. This is usually specific relaxing music that will slow down your thought process or your breathing. The idea is to guide you into a more calm and relaxed state.

You will find some meditation music and meditation information just here.

Reiki Mediation – is there such a thing?

As such if you engage in reiki you do not have to engage in meditation although both compliment each other. Reiki heals your mind body and soul and meditation calms your mind and can help you think in a better fashion.  As a practitioner of reiki I find that doing meditation can help relax me after a busy day – it’s a few minutes to myself to look within and relax.
